Hi Kent- You are thinking about a "loft bed," sort of like the kind of bed they use in college dorm rooms. One company that has really well-made products is University Loft. Look online for companies selling that brand. Very good construction and great designs. Good luck!

I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to raise a bed like 5 or 6 feet. I live on a military base in the dorms and there not the biggest. So I wanted to raise my bed like 5 to 6 feet so I could put a couch underneath it. Please help me out on this. Thanks!
