We have a cure for night sweats!

Recently, I discovered the Chilipad. I was so impressed with this product that I immediately ordered a display for my store and put it on our website. One of the most common questions I get as a mattress sales person is, “Will this mattress make me hot?” Memory foam mattresses in particular have gotten the reputation of “sleeping hot.” I have come to the conclusion after years of hearing this complaint about memory foam that many types of memory foam MUST be hotter than other types of mattresses, despite what TemperPedic, Simmons, and Sealy say about it. It cannot all be in peoples’ heads. Even so, I believe that some people sleep hotter than others by nature – no matter what type of mattress they sleep on. Heavier people usually sleep hotter than thinner people, men sleep hotter than women (until those women reach a certain age!), younger people sleep hotter than seniors (past menopause.) This is a generalization of course, and you may not fit this pattern. Sleeping too hot (or cold) can seriously affect your ability to get a good night’s sleep. My customers complain about tossing and turning trying to find a cool spot on their sheets. I have always wanted to provide my customers with a solution to this problem. And now I can . . . .

The Chilipad is a revolutionary new mattress pad that cools your bed or warms your bed, using water. The Chilipad mattress pad is placed on top of ANY mattress, including your hot memory foam mattress, and it can cool down to 46 degrees or warm up to 118 degrees. Women in menopause are falling in love with the Chilipad and with their beds again, because they can stay cool at night. Cancer patients suffering from frequent hot flashes also often find relief with the Chilipad. Couples who fight over the covers or can’t seem to find the right temperature for their bedrooms will love the dual Chilipad (available in queen and king sizes.)

The Importance of a Stain Proof Mattress Protector

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Take a look at the warranty card provided by the manufacturer of your mattress. Every warranty card says something like this: “Warranty is voided if mattress is stained or soiled.” As a health precaution, mattress manufacturers are not required by law to honor any warranty if a mattress has stains on it. Let’s say you have three inch body impressions in your six-month old mattress set, but you failed to protect the mattress with a stain resistant mattress pad or protector. Fido, your dog, slept with you one night when he wasn’t feeling so well. The bad news is that Fido had an accident on your bed, and now there is a urine stain on your mattress. Even though you may have a valid warranty claim for your mattress due to the three-inch body impressions, the mattress manufacturer can legally deny your warranty claim, and you’ll be stuck with a sagging and smelly mattress.

So the moral of the story is: If you sleep with dogs, get yourself a stain resistant/ waterproof mattress pad like the Sealy Bed Armor. Acutally, protect your mattress even if you sleep by yourself. The stain doesn’t have to be anything gross like urine to void your warranty. Even if your mattress is stained by your nighttime tea, you could void your warranty. Tea and urine look the same when they’re dried on a mattress.

A few nice things about the Sealy Bed Armor mattress pad: It is stainproof and has a “silent” waterproof backing that won’t crinkle when you turn over. The Bed Armor is designed to be very thin and lightweight, so it doesn’t change the feel of your mattress set. It makes a perfect mattress pad for memory foam mattresses.
